Reiki Treatments
What happens during a Reiki Session?
You will be asked to lie on a couch, and to make yourself comfortable. There is no need to remove any clothes as in massage.
The Reiki healer places his/ her hands over the patient's body in different positions for an hour. The patient normally goes into a deep state of relaxation. Sometimes people cry or release other pent-up emotions, which may be contributing to their illness.
What the healer is doing is channeling Life Energy into the patient. The patient takes the energy into his body and uses it for his own healing. Healers do not cure people; they assist their patients to heal themselves.
Most people feel greatly relaxed at the end of their session, but as healing energy can take up to twelve hours to be assimilated, the benefits may not be obvious immediately.
Can children be treated with Reiki?
Touch is the most natural thing in the world to a young child and combining it with Reiki can really enhance the quality of nurturing we give to our children. Unless a child is seriously ill, Reiki treatments should not take as long as those outlined for an adult. Babies and young children are generally much more sensitive and open to the energy than an adult. Consequently, when they need the energy, they will naturally soak it up.
You do not really need to do anything, except be open to its flow. They will usually let you know when they have had enough by becoming restless or uninterested. If a child is seriously ill, giving Reiki to them whilst you are holding them and whilst they are sleeping would be a good idea.
ChakraKalm......What are chakras?
Our body comprises many centres of energy. These energy centres, or vortexes, are known as Chakras (Sanskrit meaning 'spinning wheel of energy') and are located in our body to help us to process the universal energies that are around and within us.
There are seven major energy centres in our body and they directly correlate with our physical body. They are stacked together in a central column from the crown of your head to the base of your spine and when we open them and align the centres, we allow our vital life-force (also known as Ki or Prana) to flow freely through.
These centres can be instrumental in our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energies - relating and working with them.
The purpose of working with these energies is to foster integration of all aspects of your life to create a more holistic being.
The benefits of Reiki
Reiki is of great benefit for…
*Managing stress and tension
*Personal growth and confidence
*Supporting conventional medicine
*Support during times of crisis
*Stimulating natural healing
*Speeding recovery after surgery or injury
*Releasing blocked energies and cleansing toxins
*Promoting harmony within relationships
A typical Reiki session lasts 60 minutes, although the first session may take a little longer. Although Reiki can be termed 'Hands on Healing' this does not mean all healing involves contact.
Short sessions can be given to address a particular problem, where the client can be sitting in a chair or lying on a table. Depending on the level of imbalance, stress or illness in a person, a series of sessions may be needed to fully restore balance.
Three consecutive sessions are recommended if addressing a specific health problem. Sometimes more or less appointments maybe required. Many clients prefer a monthly appointment to promote overall well being.
Distant/absent Reiki healing
Because Reiki energy is not limited by time and distance, long distance healings can also be given without the client being present. The treatment lasts up to 30 minutes. This service is offered totally free of charge.
Absent healing can be used to heal humans and animals. Please email me with your requests.

Disclaimer
Reiki Healing is NOT a substitute for treatments prescribed by a doctor. While it is not guaranteed to cure, prevent or treat any illness, many benefits have been experienced by those who have received treatments.
Reiki complements the healing process and you will absorb the amount of energy you need at any point in time. You should only seek a Reiki treatment by a qualified and fully insured Reiki practitioner who is a trusted member of a Reiki association.
Although, Reiki has been known to cure even the most serious of illnesses, healing CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.
It may or may not occur.
The responsibility lies within the CLIENT, not with the practitioner. She / he acts as a 'natural channel' for the Reiki. This promotes self healing within the CLIENT who is performing the healing, NOT THE PRACTITIONER.
