Usui Reiki Master Attunement Course
Pre-requisite: Student must have completed Reiki first and second degrees.
Before accepting students within this time frame, I feel it’s important to meet and have an informal chat to make sure that taking the next step is truly for their Highest Good. Chances are it will be.
I follow the original three-level system of Usui Shiki Ryoho (or Usui Style Healing), the Master/Teacher Level is considered the third and final level of Reiki.
The 3rd degree, is the Reiki Master/Teacher level and attunement. I do not split this level into Master Practitioner and Master Teacher levels like some Reiki Master Teachers do however, I do split up the 3rd degree manual into two parts.
This means that on completion of this course, even if you do not wish to teach Reiki at this point you will still be qualified to so.
The student attends a full day, 7hr class, at which they will receive their Master degree attunement and be shown some of the non traditional techniques. They will then be asked to read and absorb the information, try using some of the advanced healing techniques in the Master Practitioner level 3a manual and to keep notes of their findings experiences or questions they may have.
The student returns 28-42 days later to learn the information contained in the Master Teacher level 3b manual
There is a lot of information for the student to learn, by splitting the information into the two halves, makes it easier and less daunting for the student. I also personally feel that having the 4-6 week gap and allowing the student to assimilate the higher level of energy before learning how to pass the attunements to others, does help the student.
Some students may become disenchanted with having to learn about animal chakras, transpersonal chakras or, as some people may call them, 'specialised advanced/New Age' techniques such as incorporating colour therapy, crystal healing grids, goal manifesting, affirmations, symbols or other non traditional techniques, such as Reiki psychic surgery, the antahkarana & cancer symbols and the healing attunement which really are not part of the original healing art of Reiki.
But in spite of this, it is important to keep an open and accepting attitude in order to benefit most effectively.
The student should filter the information given in the 3a manual, discard what they may disagree with and retain what makes sense and feels right to them.
I feel that I should just add here, that the 3a manual does contain quite a lot of relevant information and Reiki techniques that will prove useful.
The reality is that most 3a Master Practitioners, are Reiki Masters who simply have not been taught an attunement process.
Although a large number of students are happy to remain as a Reiki Master Practitioner and have no inclination whatsoever to teach, by teaching the 3rd degree in this way, the student will have already received the necessary knowledge and training that will enable them to do so should they change their minds.

There are those who disagree with taking Reiki Master/Teacher Level 'weekend or two or even 3 day workshops' and strongly feel that this level should be offered in the Japanese traditional manner in which a student apprentices with their Reiki Master/Teacher for several years.
But in modern times, this method is no longer feasible; especially since most men and women hold full-time jobs, have family obligations and busy schedules to meet.
In our fast-paced Western society, the 'traditional' methods are no longer practical considerations. Presumably, apprenticing in our present day is unnecessary and has become obsolete.
Usually, students who feel strongly about apprenticing lack focus, self-motivation and self-confidence in their own abilities.
Quite frankly, students should encounter no problems as long as their Reiki Master/Teacher is available to give additional guidance should it be required.
Should my students need any help or guidance I am only at the other end of a phone or email. Most of my students regard me not just as their Reiki master, but also as their friend. They often text or phone me & they or I will pop in for a chat and a cuppa from time to time. We meet up to exchange treatments too.
The Master Degree is usually taught over two 7hr days. This depends on the student. It is possible for it to be taught in 1 day, every student is an individual, some may have already taken a level 3 course with another Reiki master and only need 1day, most will need the 2.
We will take a light lunch break, (student brings their own packed lunch) & short refreshment breaks will be taken throughout the day. I do like my cups of tea 
.
The 2nd day usually starts at 10am and finishes at 5pm. This depends on the
student, some only need 4 - 5 hours instruction and some the full 7.
After the student has completed the two day course, they will still be required to do the following
Write a paper minimum of 300 words of the benefits of Reiki, based on your experience.
Do 6 Reiki therapy case studies,
fill in and return *relevant documents on your own.
*For insurance purposes, all Reiki therapy sessions
that the Reiki practitioner has provided since being attuned to the 2nd degree
must have been documented & copies kept.
completing this task should not prove difficult.
I do not furnish the student with their certificate/s until they have completed the full Master Degree course to my satisfaction. They must have also submitted their case studies and essay.

What happens after taking the Master attunements?
The changes that take place after taking the Master attunements are similar to those which took place after Reiki I and II except that they are more pronounced. Any weakness in the body could be temporarily exaggerated as healing is activated on a very deep level. This could be accompanied by emotional changes as trapped emotions are released from the body.
The first few months following the Master’s training course can feel like an emotional roller coaster: incredibly wonderful at times and very confusing at other times. There is more of a need to have quiet times to allow emotions to come to the surface and heal.
Spiritually there is a much stronger connection to the Reiki energy, both during the Reiki sessions and in general like. After being attuned to Master level Reiki, people experience many magical moments in life situations which previously they may have found mundane. This results in a greater ability to love life and consequently one attracts love and well-being to oneself.
The Reiki Master has a much greater appreciation of the abundance and the graciousness of the Reiki energy. This results in a feeling of increased safety in body, and develops within the Reiki Master very spiritual qualities such as wisdom, understanding, strength, patience and a desire to share this well-being with everyone encountered. The Reiki Master is more motivated from the heart than from a need for ego gratification or from greed. Such destructive qualities are replaced by love.
